After receiving a complaint about the children selected under RTE being denied admission, District Magistrate Visakh ji has taken cognizance of the matter and has sought a report and has said that strict action will be taken against those violating the rules.
There will be a crackdown on high profile private schools that do not admit poor children selected under the Right to Education Act (RTE). After Amar Ujala prominently raised the pain of parents, District Magistrate Vishakh ji has taken cognizance of the matter.

He has asked BSA to give information about the children who have got admission so far. He has also asked for a complete report of the schools which have refused to admit children. DM called a meeting on Friday regarding the matter. Apart from BSA, all Additional City Magistrates (ACM) and ADM Supply were present in it.

In the last two days, about 300 such parents have lodged complaints with the education department, whose children are not being admitted to private schools despite being selected. After Amar Ujala continuously raised the issue, about 700 more children have got admission. However, this number will increase further, because many schools have not uploaded the details of the children seeking admission on the portal.
ACM, BEO will enter the field
The responsibility of ensuring that all the selected children under RTE get admission in April will be given to ACM and BEO. They will be nominated at the block level and sent to schools. ADM Supply will be made its nodal. Department officials say that this time the schools which will not admit the selected children, their NOE will be cancelled.
DIOS also sought reply
District School Inspector Rakesh Kumar has also sought details of the children getting admission under RTE from all CBSE and ICSE school managers. Rakesh Kumar said that it is clear in the conditions of NOC that the orders and instructions of the government will have to be followed.
District Magistrate Vishakh ji said that private schools cannot refuse to teach RTE eligible children. A complete report of those doing so has been sought from BSA. There is an option of FIR against those schools which violate the Act and NOC will also be cancelled.
